| Upsilon production cross section in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV |

We present the Upsilon production cross section in proton-proton
collisions at 7 TeV, as measured by the CMS experiment using the
dimuon decay channel. More specifically, we present the Upsilon
1S, 2S and 3S differential cross sections, as a function of
transverse momentum up to 30 GeV/c, and the corresponding cross-
section ratios. The results are compared to several theory
calculations. We end the talk with perspectives regarding the
measurement of Upsilon production in Pb-Pb collisions, to be made
by CMS during the LHC heavy-ion runs. |
