Workshop on Science with Rare Ion Beams SCRIBE-2012

Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC) Kolkata (erstwhile Calcutta) is located in Sector-I, Block AF of Saltlake (also called Bidhannagar).

Air:

VECC is around 18 km by road from Kolkata Airport.  Pre-paid taxis are available at airport to travel to VECC at Saltlake. The pre-paid taxi booth is located near the exit of the airport lounge.

Land Mark: C.A.P. camp (near tank no. 5).

Taxi-route: Airport-to-Saltlake via Ultadanga (12 km) OR via Newtown (18 km) (Fare : Rupees 250-350 )

Train:

Taxis are available at Howrah/Sealdah station to travel to VECC at Saltlake.

Taxi-route: Howrah/Sealdah-to-VECC Saltlake (via) Ultadanga (Fare : Rupees 150-200 )

Bus:

From Howarh station 215A, 71, L38B, S-18, Howrah-Japani Gate minibuses are avialble.

Bus stop: CAP camp (near tank no. 5) or Baisakhi. VECC is about 5 minutes walk from CAP camp and about 10 minutes walk from Baisakhi.
